I have finally outfitted the garage brewery with a conical fermenter in a refrigerator! It was a lot easier than I thought.

I assume you will be filling in place? So are you filling through the blow off tube or will you unscrew the lid for filling?

I'll unscrew the lid to fill. The blowoff tube does not hang down into the fermenter and I worry about splashing all the wort. There is about 10 inches of headspace between the lid and the 10 gallon mark. I also need to remove the lid to dry hop. I figure that doing so to fill the fermenter will help me figure out a way of doing so that is repeatable with a full fermenter.
