    All grain to biab

Nothing to adapt on the recipe. BIAB is All Grain. All you need to know is with how much water to start to do the mash, and having a pot big enought to hold all the grain and water as others said.

Northern Brewer Support (or lack of)

Hi Todd. Thanks for your post, and thanks everyone for their contribution as well. I finally got an email that I sent on Monday responded yesterday (Thursday). I hope that you guys can get everything back on track as I have always been a big fan and a customer since I started brewing 10 years...

Northern Brewer Support (or lack of)

Anyone knows what's going on with Northern Brewer? I have ordered from them for over 10 years. Their customer support has always been A1. In the past few months has gone downhill tremendously. Takes them 4 days to ship, and then it takes another week or so to receive items since they ship on...

Hornindal Kveik is blowing my mind

That's my thought too. Been brewing several batches with Hornindal and mostly with Voss. Last Sunday I brewed a 1050 OG Citra Pale Ale. Pitched at 95F and 3 hours later was fermenting. 36 hours later, on Tuesday morning was already completely done reaching its1010 FG. Waited another day just to...

    Kveik: Omega Hornindal vs Voss

I did a NEIPA 3 weeks ago with Omega Hornindal. 10 Gal batch. Separated into two 5 gallon conicals and picthed one full 3 month old pack on each without a starter and it was done fermenting in 5 days. As mentioned above, nice Tropical flavors. The following weekend, I did the exact same recipe...

Hornindal Kveik is blowing my mind

Brewed a 10 gal NEIPA batch on Sunday. Put the batch in 2 separate Spike flex fermenters and pitched a pack of 2 month old Omega packs on each fermenter without making a starter and 12 hours later was already fermenting. 24 hours later and both are fermenting like crazy. I’m letting it free rise...

    I've got hop cones already!

That's what I'm worried about. I brewed a Fresh Hop Chinnook Harvest in September last year. At this rate, it looks like I'll be harvesting in June!! I don't think that new cones will come up then...unless the cone production is constant and I just have to start picking as they get matured...

    I've got hop cones already!

The same here. 2nd year Chinnook and Cascade with hops cones all over. Some are already 1 inch around. This is crazy. Can I get 2 harvests in one year? Looks like they'll be mature in a few more weeks...

Can I plant a root cutting? Not a Rhizome?

Just cut a bine, place it in a cup of water for a couple of weeks until it starts growing root hairs at the bottom of the stem and plant that.

Corn Sugar for Ferocious IPA Extract Clone

Wouldn't know how to compare. Never had the pleasure of having the real deal since it's not available here in GA. If anyone wants to trade a couple with a local GA brew such as Sweetwater IPA that may not be available in your area, I'll be forever greateful. :mug:

Corn Sugar for Ferocious IPA Extract Clone

All great information here guys. Thanks! It's been fermenting in the colder range of the scale at around 65 degrees. So, I'm going to use 3.75 oz to get me to the target 2.2 - 2.5 target volume for the style. I'll see how it come out and adjust accordingly for future batches. I'll report...

Corn Sugar for Ferocious IPA Extract Clone

Thanks for the response guys. Ok, I'm really confused now. Should I use 5 oz, 3/4 cup, or 3 oz? :) dgoldb1, did yours finished carbonating yet? How did they come out?. What did you end up using? I'm about 10 days away from bottling this. Thanks!

Corn Sugar for Ferocious IPA Extract Clone

I'm fermenting this kit right now. I was reading the instructions and also noticed the 5 oz of Corn Sugar, but it seems high. 3/4 of a cup is more like 3.5 oz of corn sugar, not 5. What did you end up using? 3 oz? have you checked carbonations levels yet? How did it turned out?
