    Beer glass display ideas

I lost my mind to craft beer about 2 years before I started homebrewing, and for the past 10 years I've been collecting glassware from various brewers. I've got a sizable collection at this point (roughly three to four dozen) and I'm at a loss as to how to display them properly, so I'm looking...

PP Carlsbad Strong Ale Fest--you goin??

Anyone going to the Pizza Port Strong Ale fest in Carlsbad today or tomorrow? This will be my first strong ale fest, looking forward to it!

What tool do I use for this keg post?

Ordered 4 kegs, and two of them look like this. Anyone know what size wrench I can use to get this off? It doesn't fit any of the box-end wrenches I have, and I use a crescent wrench for my other posts. Thanks!

    Split boil batches?

So, I'm to the point where my turkey fryer is not large enough to accommodate the 7+ gallon pre-boil volumes that I need for my 5.5 gallon batches due to boil off, and trub loss. I have been toying with the idea of doing my regular boil in the turkey pot, and then collecting a couple more...

    First blow off, what happened?

Brewed a 1.080ish beer last night. Maris otter, with a little C75, and black patent. Mashed at 150-149. Made a 2L starter, and pitched at 6PM. Aerated with pure O2 for 45 seconds about 5 minutes later. 5 gallon batch into a 6.5 gallon carboy that is sitting in a bucket of water at about 67-68...

Reattaching glass base to glass ware

The glass base broke off of my Pivovarský dům fluted .3L glass. The break was very clean, a little too clean in fact which leads me to believe that it broke off where the glass was fitted to the base during assembly. My dad tried to epoxy it back together, but that held for about 3 days...

Fried power supply unit? halp plz

Pretty sure a good number of beer guys are also engineers, so I need some help. Have had 2 power outtages in roughly 6 months. The first one fried my monitor (luckily was still under warranty). The second one was last night and has appeared to have fried my power supply unit based on the...

Radiohead fans -- The King of Limbs

I'm a die hard Radiohead fan. I got LP8 yesterday (The King of Limbs), and was wondering if anyone else has gotten it yet? If so, what do you make of it? It generally takes me a while to get into new albums and this one is no exception. There are a couple standouts, but I'm really sad to say...

    Igloo MLT conversion question

I have an older rectangular Igloo "marine cooler" that I just pulled the drain spout off of. I measured it, and it's about 3/4" in diamater, if not slightly larger. I've looked through the DIY MLT threads, and a lot of people are using 1/2" fittings. Are the Rubbermaid coolers' drain spouts...

    Wort chiller care

So I used my wort chiller for the first time today. Never will I ever brew another beer without one. 4 gallons went from 212 to <100 in ~15 minutes. Absolutely incredible. (I built a pre-chiller that sits in an ice bath, so that helped with our warm winter tap water in southern california). I...

Adding a spigot to a cooler

So, I have a vintage Coleman rectangular cooler that I have calculated to hold just over 6.5 gallons (please feel free to double check my math: inside dimensions 17" long, 9" wide, 10" deep, conservatively). I want to get into all grain, so I am thinking this thing would be perfect. I was just...

    Hi I'm new

I had a heck of a time choosing a name. I'm in southern california, just joined a local homebrewing group (although I've been brewing on and off for years) and am looking to expand my brewing expertise. I'm also here to steal some keezer ideas from you guys. Saw some awesome ones in that...
