Why did my wine kit come with two yeast packs?

It said nothing about multiple packs. Sounds like it was just a packaging error.

Why did my wine kit come with two yeast packs?

Don't know the weight, but the pack said it's good for up to 6 gallons.

Why did my wine kit come with two yeast packs?

The instructions just say to add yeast. Nothing about multiple packs. The airlock is already bubbling.

Why did my wine kit come with two yeast packs?

This is my first attempt at making wine. Subject pretty much says it all. My malbec-shiraz kit had two yeast packets in it. I pitched one tonight, but wondering if I should've pitched them both. Thanks!

Making my first kit, do I really need 2 six gallon carboys?

So, for my first racking, I'll go with a 6.5, and then rack to 6?

Making my first kit, do I really need 2 six gallon carboys?

I am planning to make my first wine kit this weekend, and it looks like I'll need to rack it twice. I bought a 7.9 gallon bucket for primary, and a 6 gallon glass carboy. I don't have another 6 gallon fermenter for my 2nd racking, so here's what I am considering: 1. Use a 6.5 gallon carboy...

    What's a good price for a ball-lock keg?

@stratslinger, I don't see too many distributors around my area. @The_Cleveland_Brew_Shop, I'll be sure the kegs aren't missing any extra pieces. By picking them up locally, I am at least saving on shipping.

    What's a good price for a ball-lock keg?

@iaefebs, nice google-fu :). I'll be sure to check that all kegs are in a good shape.

    What's a good price for a ball-lock keg?

@stratslinger, the few places I called seemed kinda pissed of at the stupid question. @b-boy that's what I am trying.

    What's a good price for a ball-lock keg?

I'll be picking them myself. I haven't found any online stores that have them that cheap. The ones that do are not clean, and need new seals. I am not in a hurry to build a kegerator, but don't want to pass up a decent deal.

    What's a good price for a ball-lock keg?

I see that kegs are getting more and more expensive. I found a guy on craigslist willing to sell me 5 kegs for $225. Is that a good deal?

    Weissbier Honey Orange Hefeweizen

Brewed this in a bag, and hit the OG on the nose. The airlock is already bubbling. Can't wait to drink this.

    Weissbier Honey Orange Hefeweizen

@TheJasonT, thanks! What I've done in the past, is take my grain bag out, and sit it inside a colander over a pot. I sqeeze it from the top with a plate, and leave it alone. While my wort is coming up to a boil, I let the bag drain. Once it hits boiling, I just dump whatever came out from the...

    Weissbier Honey Orange Hefeweizen

I've only brewed in a bag a few times, and always used a BIAB recipe. I am bad with keeping notes, so I have no idea what my efficiency is. I need to set up an equipment profile in BeerSmith.

Should I scale the grain bill if I want to brew in a bag?

Can I make a cyser in time for christmas?

Local orchards are selling fresh cider. I have 5 lbs of honey that I need to use up. Can I make a batch of cyser that will be drinkable in time for christmas? I am looking to either make a 3 gallon batch, or a 5 gallon batch.

    Flying internatially with homebrew

The beer is already bottled, so labeled commercial bottles are out of the question.

    Flying internatially with homebrew

My parents are flying from the US to Ukraine, and then Belgium to visit some relatives. I'd like to give them some of my homebrew to take along. Has anyone packed homebrew in their checked luggage recently? Have you had any problems with TSA because of it?

    Heatstick = awesome!

Yes, I have the electric element on and the heat stick. After the wort comes to a boil, I can shut off the stove and still maintain a vigorous boil. This slows down my evaporation a bit.
