    iSpindle - DIY Electronic Hydrometer

I just finished building my first iSpindel and am calibrating it now. Looking at it I can understand your reluctance to use plastic due to potential scratches and cleaning issues. It's fairly large so ironically I can only use it in a plastic bucket or my Fermentasaurus plastic fermenter. It...

Sorry been away from this awhile. I am going to have some time soon to look at this again but I went the easy way and used the older one.

    iSpindle - DIY Electronic Hydrometer

I think I saw the picture of the diode on the Wemos D1 Mini Pro. So it just needs to be removed not short circuited like this says

    iSpindle - DIY Electronic Hydrometer

I'm getting my parts together and have Wemos D1 Mini Pro, GY-521 and TP4056 boards as well as the Mikmonken PCB. After rereading this forum and the Github docs I am still a little unclear on what diodes, resisters or LEDs to remove from these boards when assembling. Some where recommended to...

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

I reflashed from Fermentrack and also tried moving the OneWire from 3.3V to 5V but no luck yet. In a couple weeks when all my parts come in I'll solder up my board and try a different Temp Probe. Aug 01 2017 19:58:29 Connection type WiFi selected. Trying TCP serial (WiFi) Aug 01 2017...

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

No problem. I can appreciate how busy you have been with the update and I do appreciate all your hard work. I am running Fermentrack. I have the SMD Dupont LCD board but don't have it hooked up yet as I'm waiting for a few components. I just have a DS18B20 and resister hooked up to the Wemos...

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

I am running on a Wemos D1 Mini Pro. I just reinstalled everything from scratch for the 3rd time and still can't save my settings and get just one probe working. I have reset the EEPROM to factory defaults several times and I am connecting to the ESP8266 over Wifi. I just have a temp probe wired...

    Brewie

I DID read the thread and I am serious. Sounds like an ambitious project that is underfunded and over schedule just like most craft brewery start ups. It also sounds like they are pretty close to getting units out there and start to get some real feedback on whether it lives up to the marketing...

Are there any actual owners who have brewed on their new Brewie willing to talk about their experience and results? Any issues with the initial units?

    NEW StrangeBrew Elsinore Thread

I don't seem to see it. I do see the temp probes. I checked voltages and I have 5 volts and the blue LED on the PH sensor board is lit. In my /sys/devices/w1_bus-master1/ directory I have the 4 temp probes listed (28-000003faxxxx) and then another directory 20-00000014ec6f which I assumed...

Yes I am. The servers say they are started when my system starts up and I can go to port 2121 and browse the directory. JT

    NEW StrangeBrew Elsinore Thread

I'm having trouble getting my system to recognize the DS2450 and PH Sensor. I have used the same hardware as Doug and hokked it up to my onewire bus which works fine for temp probes. Voltages are good but I could use some advice on how to troubleshoot this better. Tx JT

    My Worst Brew Day Ever

The mark of a really good brewer is one that can miss one style only to hit another dead center. I once made a Weiss beer that picked up a lacto bug and ended up being an award winning Berliner Weiss. Usually the beers that turn out the best are the ones where something unexpected happened and...
