    Is this normal?

    This is my second batch using a starter. I mixed up DME to make a 1.040 starter 24 hours before I pitched it into 6 gallons of 1.072 (Porter). This is 24 hours later. Is this normal? I have yet to have a blow off tube overflow a 32oz cup half filled with water. I moved it over to a gallon jug...

    What is in this beer?

    It's a brown ale. I added 4oz. Brewers Best coconut extract into the keg. I carbed it at 30psi for 3 days released the pressure and reset to 8 psi to serve. There wasn't anything "suspended" into the beer when I racked it into the keg. I have poured 3 pints now, and it's still in there...

    Anyone else start a brew day and realize you are missing stuff...so it's a quick chan

    Started my mash, and went to weigh out my hops to find out I didn't have any hop bags for the main hops (leaf) in my beer (quick search to find a replacement (pellet), none hand, so I used what I had to get the same IBUs). Middle of the mash check showed a little cold, put in some hot water...

    Anyone ever use Splenda instead of sugar in a root beer recipe?
