Wisconsin 3 enclosures for sale. 2 new, 1 used.

So I see you already sent out PMs to people, and I want to respect that. But if you'd rather not ship, I'm in Appleton. I'd be interested in any of them I think. They all seem fair sized, and I haven't done any e-systems and am looking to get started. It's still an hour drive for me or so, but...

    DIY Air Conditioner kegerator info

So I have a few questions to make sure I understand all of this correctly. I have a terrible time finding information on these window AC air conditioner units. So I have a 5000 BTU Haier windowshaker that I'd like to build into a kegerator. I have it framed in already, but I want to make sure...

    Appleton area brewers?

Hey, man! I'm the VP of the ALE Club (Appleton Libation Enthusiasts). I just saw this sub, I know I'm bumping a slightly older thread, but shoot an email to [email protected]. Brandon is our president and will get you involved. We have a lot of fun. And yes, ritebrew is fantastic. Neil is...

Does the volume of beer in my keg affect the pressure needed to carbonate?

No, it doesn't. Think of it this way. The amount absorbed into the beer is a function of a) surface area and b) pressure. Whether there is 1 gallon or 5 gallons in the keg, the surface area is the same. So that means the pressure also should be the same. However, the reason it may seem...

    Bottling and SansStar question

StarSan is a no-rinse sanitizer. You'll want to at least let the foam drip out, but if it's just wet with sanitizer, you're fine.

    Wattage Necessary

The more, the better. On just 120V, you don't have much of an option. 1500 W is pretty much going to be the biggest you can go. If you have access to a 220W outlet, go with 30A, or 5500W. If you wire it for 50A, you can run 2 elements at a time.

What equipment should I get next?!?!

To me, it's about what will help you make better beer. I recommend 3 things you haven't mentioned: 1. Fermentation Control. Get a freezer and rig up an STC-1000 to it. You can do it for $100. 2. StirStarter or homemade stir plate if you like DIY stuff. Stirstarter is $55. 3. Oxygenation kit...

My Easy Kegging and Bottling Procedure

So, maybe I'm missing something here. Why wouldn't you force carb it THEN fill the bottles? Is it just for consistency sake? I carb the entire keg first. Then I fill from the picnic tap. Once the bottles are capped, they hold carbonation just fine. I think that's how most do it.

    Yeast recommendations please

If it were me, I'd stick to the basics: WLP001, Wyeast 1056, or US05. All 3 work fantastic. And not sure what you are asking about a starter. You'll need one for sure. I'd recommend using some DME and make a 1.040 2L starter. If you don't have DME around, get a liter or 2 of the wort going in...

    STC-1000 Probe Problems

Okay WTF. I was about to box them up this morning and thought i better try them one more time... Now they both work great... Both controllers with both probes with good results... I checked the probe wiring over and over again. It almost seems like some of the other wiring must have been...

    STC-1000 Probe Problems

So I tried them both several times again, no luck. I tried what Aouli suggested and pulled them out a C-hair so they weren't against the back of the terminal block, no luck. I started the return through Amazon for 2 of them. I can't have them "exchanged" since its not supplied from Amazon, so I...

    STC-1000 Probe Problems

So I actually got 2 STC-1000 controllers. Hooked the first one up- got an EE error immediately. That means the probe is open or shorted. So I opened the second one up. Had it working great. Then I tried to feed it through the side of the freezer, and must have pulled too hard or something...

    STC-1000 EE error. HELP!

So I have my STC-1000 hard-wired into a chest freezer. As soon as I plug it in, I'm getting an alarm and displays "EE". The instructions say that means short circuit or open circuit, but the english is very broken. So I believe I have it wired correctly. The black coming from the plug is...
