    Simple Cyser

I'm just starting to drink this @5.5 months and, although it tastes great, I think it may need even more time. I still detect some tartness and maybe a yeasty flavor that I hope will mellow. I never went back and added raisins (just forgot) and only racked it once (came out perfectly clear...

American Amber Ale Broken Leg House Amber

Never used S-04 before. I blew off my airlock overnight after 24 hours. So I switched to blowoff tube and somehow it managed to blow that off as well. I hope nothing has been able to get in there and funk it up. I also smelled some of those fruity esters even though I've kept it in a water...

American Amber Ale Broken Leg House Amber

Brewed this yesterday and I'm looking forward to the results! Thanks again Yooper!

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

yes, give it a few weeks in the primary, then you can add the amount of priming sugar you normally would for the level of carb you want

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

You are not stopping fermentation, as some do with a cider, so you can bottle condition as you would any beer.

    Simple Cyser

I'm no expert. Just getting started with Cider & Mead actually. I pitched the yeast after I got everything in the carboy. I think I started nutrient additions the next day. I divided the total additions and staggered them over three different days. Not very scientific though and all during...

    need help with recipe

Read about hopstands and consider moving most or all of your hops to late additon or flameout. However, in order to maintain the balance and not make it too sweet, you may need to increase your overall amount of hops. I think you really need to be using software like Beersmith or Brewer's...

Malkore's (not so) Ancient Orange Mead

Sounds good. I'll give this a try for my first mead.

American Amber Ale Hoppy American Amber or Malty American Pale Ale?

This got huge accolades from my neighbor who used to brew for Lost Coast. He couldn't believe that this was only the 2nd beer I've brewed! The only issue he noticed was the over-carbonation. Oh well, time to brew it again!

    Tropical Blond Ale

Thanks hethacker! I didn't explain but I have a corn allergy. This recipe would probably be fine, but I've never used any corn products in my beers. I carb with table sugar because its more predictable than honey. Or so I've read.

    Tropical Blond Ale

I have some good Orange Blossom Honey. What do you think of adding that in place of the corn sugar?

American Amber Ale Hoppy American Amber or Malty American Pale Ale?

The only problem I ran into is that I over-carbed and the yeast will not stay on the bottom of the bottles. I measured my priming sugar by volume rather than weight (I know... Rookie Mistake) but the Denny's Fav 50 gets in the glass even with a perfect pour. Anyone else run into this issue...

    Simple Cyser

I was looking to make my first cyser. I liked the no heat & no sulfites along with the simple method and ingredients. So, I made this on 7/7/13 with a few slight mods: 3.5g AJ (unfiltered, pasteurized, no additives) 2 lbs orange blossom honey 1 lb brown sugar Lalvin D-47 rehydrated with water...

    Citra Amarillo Pale Ale feedback

I was about to brew something very similar using Yooper's Summer Pale https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f66/summer-pale-ale-413790/ as a base. I'm working out the hop variety & schedule; so I'll be watching for your results and opinions here. Right now I'm thinking: Chinook for bittering...

    Great Concept

We had Brew It Up restaurant in Sacramento that did this and they went out of business.

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

I bottled one week ago and I tasted one last night. They were carbed and clear but the taste was a little 'green' to me. Sort of tangy and cidery. I followed the OP recipe exactly with the exception of some extra hops at FO and slightly higer ABV (5.25%). It's not hoppy or bitter, just...

Stone Enjoy By 07/04 & RuinTen

Yeah, I'm in the Sacramento area and we get a good selection of whatever they are shipping at the time. Many of their beers are seasonal, so I try to stock up and hold on to them, but I'm not always successful. :drunk:

Lavlin d47 instead of Montrachet in Apfelwein?

So D-47 works fine? No rhino farts? What temp do you ferment at? Thanks!
