    roast and aging

My imperial Stout came out a bit on the toasty/bitter/astringent side. Will this subside with age?

    am i overcarbing?

I have a co2 set up to carbonate two kegs at the same time. I have been carbing one keg at 15 psi for about a week and then put another keg on to carbonate. Usually takes about two weeks to carbonate so if the first one is done do I take it off the co2 until the second one is fully carbonated...

    very new...need help...

I am an all-grain brewer but would love to try my hand at a wild ale. My mother in-law has a wine celler where she has been making wine for years. Crushing and squeezing the grapes, aging in wood barrells, the whole nine yards. I want to leave a beer in there to ferment and what would be the...

    bottling with the blichmann

I want to bottle with my beer gun and my question is how much pressure do I use when filling the bottle? Does the pressure change with temperature of the co2 tank. Mine is left out at about 55-60 degrees so would I need a higher pressure than I use when serving from a refrigerated tank?

    aging in the keg

I just kegged my Strong Scotch ale and was going to age it for about 6 months. Would it be ok just to cap it co2 then set it aside or would I have to carbonate the whole keg first then set aside. Right now it is sitting on a cap of co2 but not hooked up to gas. What do you guys generally do?

    priming sugar to keg

I usually force carbonate my beer but I want to age a strong scotch ale in the keg and was wondering if by throwing corn sugar in the keg would the beer fully carbonate?

    efficiency

I had just purchased a 10 gallon round orange cooler for a mashtun equipped with a 12" false bottom. What were some of the efficiencies you guys get from this type of mash tun? 70's or higher?

    how do you dry hop?

I was wondering about different but efficient ways to dryhop without wasting too much beer in the process. I usually add pellets to a hop bag and throw it in the secondary but it does soak up a bit of beer along the way. Any other techniques that can be utilized?

    mash tun

I am making a mash tun with a 12" false bottom and wanted to know what people use for a tube on the inside of the tun where the wort transfers fron the false bottom to the kettle? Do i need a heat safe plastic hose? I have a heat resistant rubber hose I can use would this be ok?

    Airlock blew of

Woke up this morning only to find the airlock blown off the primary. Yeast spewing out the top. I quickly sanitized a blowoff tube and set it up. My question is how unsanitary is it with yeast hitting the outside air like that? Will the beer be ok?

    hop spider

What's does everyone think of the hop spider? This is the device where a large nylon hop bag is clamped to a holder that sits atop of the kettle. Hops are placed in the bag instead of straight into the wort. This helps not to have so much trub transferring to the fermenter. I did it for the...

    mash temp confusion

I mashed in at 164degrees waited till it hit 152degrees then shut lid and waited an hour. Opened lid temp was at 160degrees but went down to 152 right away. Was I mashing at 160 or 152? At the start I did have to stir a bit to bring temp down. This ever happen to anyone?

    how much more yeast

I made a starter for an IPA and it just looks like not much yeast actually increased so was wondering if i'm just too nervous that it didn't actually ferment out at all. I cooled wort to 70 degrees then aerated the crap out of it then pitched the yeast and let it go. I use foam for a lid on a...
