Do u think stone is a top 5 brewery in the U.S.?

I like stone, maybe put them in the top 10..but I would put these USA guys in front of them just based on the beers I have liked better and/or felt were more interesting: Dogfishead Firestone Walker (yes, personally their double IPA is out of this world good) Deschutes Hair of the Dog...

    Yay Bottle Tree

Just used my vinator with bottle tree - I can NEVER go back after that!!! Sanitizing bottles literally takes about 10 seconds or less each and they dry on the bottle tree.

    Yay Bottle Tree

So I found a good used bottle tree on craiglist and used it the other day. Have to say this was probably my best beer brewing purchase to date. No more knocking down drying bottles, makes bottling way easier, should have bought one earlier. It held 22oz bombers just as well as regular bottles...

    What are you drinking now?

Trader Joe's Providential Belgian Style Golden Ale This beer is fantastic now, I've been drinking about 1 per month and in my opinion it is at its absolute best now.

Worst Commercial Beer You've Ever Had?

I second this, so glad I only bought 1 instead of a 6 pack. that was horrid. I think we can write watermelon off, don't add it to beer, ever!

    Everything Brooklyn Brewshop

I have 4 Chocolate Maple Porter kits to make, thinking of trying to add bacon to one of them (maybe in a secondary fermentation). Will have to research the heck out of that. My experiences so far with BBS : - Get a small mash tun or make one for sparging (strainer sparge sucks) - Weigh...

Question - Getting 2 gal cooled wort to fermentor

Hi, I brew about 2 gallons at a time and found pouring my wort out of a 12 quart pot to basically be a spilly nightmare (it sticks to pot, pours off bottom for the first half of the pour). Should I siphon with my mini siphon (and will that help aerate it too)? Looking for suggestions...

Any worse beer destination than Mexico?

The beer in Playa Del Carmen all taste like water that gets you mildly drunk, makes you have to piss a lot, and needs to be drunk fast so it doesn't get warm. Even with a Lime it isn't very good. I was ok with Tecate and Sol, but not impressed by any means. Personally its all Mai Tai's, Tequila...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

I got one of these just recently, pretty cool way to store everything and comes with all the equipment. It's called a Hop Box, perfect for a 1 gallon or small batch brewer. http://ca.etsy.com/shop/HopBox

I have not sanitized any thing for the last 4 months!!!

Initial thoughts....YUCK Washing equipment makes sense, soap will not hurt beer if you rinse it off properly, but honestly I'd rather rinse properly and sanitze cause it's easier. Than again, I suppose it could be like a BBQ, tastes better after you've cooked a few things in it....still...

Great way to store small batch equipment - HopBox

I wanted to share this, its from http://ca.etsy.com/shop/HopBox built by our very own mmlangon. I won the naming contest, got this 'HopBox' in the mail as the prize. Is way better than my old cardbord box storage...and it came with all the gear! I can vouch for the seller based on my...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

I suck at building things like this, so I ordered this one instead: http://www.homebrewstuff.com/2-gallon-mash-tun.html I had to tighten the seal, but that was it. Works great, flow wort is perfect and the sparge is easy. Only had a bit of an issue hitting mash out temp, but recycled a bit...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

First batch with a 2 Gallon Mash Tun - what an improvement! I have been using a strainer with the Brooklyn Brew Shop recipe kits. My latest brew, I used the Mash Tun instead and the beer is fantastic! So glad I upgraded, plus now I can make 2 batches at once.

    Washington State Beers

Was at a beer fest and Old School House Brewery won best beers, they were all quite good. Also Pike Market brewery is excellent. http://www.oldschoolhousebrewery.com/beer.html

    Nanobrewery..Road to failure

Making the beer is the cheapest part of the endeavor, it's all the other crap that cost them $. Even the equipment has a decent resale value if well kept, so the risk is lower there. A nano is a perfect test run that may pay for your hobby if you are lucky, nothing more. It's a damn cool idea...

I went "pro" - What it actually takes to do so

You may want to expand into light beers with lime in them, sure you may turn your beer loving customers, but light lime beer attracts the ladies (including the male ones)
