    I always open and check my temp about half way threw 60/90 min mash. I then stir the mash a good amount. My efficiency went from low 70's to mid 80's. I heard of doing this on basic brewing radio, and I think there was one on beersmith radio. Remember mash temp is a range.

    Sorry for the computer. No help there. As for the car how far off are Nox readings. A new converter can usually cover that up. And a little rubbing alcohol in the tank. Half bottle.

    Thank you for all your quick answers. Two more question, Once adjustments are made and my adjusted water profile matches my chosen profile. the mashing water profile cells do not turn green. Does anyone know the PH of Ro water. Again thank you to all.

    Cider faucet?

    I make ciders for the wife all the time. And serve them threw my perlicks. Never had an issue or off favors. I also have a family member that works at a brewery he agrees with the short time frames a standard faucet is NOT an issue.

    Incandescent light bulbs used for warming ferment chamber

    I use a flood lamp inside a new/clean paint can. I took a reptile heat lamp unscrewed the shield. Drilled a large hole in the lid of the paint can. Inserted lamp reattach shield and tapped lid back on can. I also drilled a tiny hole in lid to have a visual of lamp coming on.

    Igloo cooler question

    I do something very similar I use a water cooler with alot of ice and a copper coil as a pre-chiller. I do not use salt cause it will cause corrsion of the copper. I use a 70plate chiller for the wort.

    Preferred way to bump OG on cider.

    So after reading a bit and Some PMs I went with this recipe. 5gallons Costco apple juice, 5 cans of albertsons concentrated apple juice, 0.8lb light brown sugar, 0.5tsp yeast nutrient.

    ^ also if you keg I would purge your carboy with co2 before filling it. But that is a huge amount of head space.
