    Equipment Questions

I have questions concerning 2 pieces of equipment I have potential great deals on: #1: Brutus 10 brew sculpture. It is set up for Natural Gas but LP would be better for me. Is it covertable? Difficulty? #2: Commercial keg beer cooler w/ two 2-tap towers. Made for egular kegs. My...

    CO2 Tanks Size Recommendation?

I have a 5# CO2 tank I currently use for 2 kegs in a fridge. I will be building a keezer very soon. At the moment I am thinking of 4-5 kegs on tap with the potential of 1-2 (right now my plans are for a 6-keg keezer) carbing. I will keep the tank outside the keezer. What size tank is...

whats the worst brewing accident you have witnessed or been a part of?

Similar here except my new carboy was seeping. Tried to get it in the bathtub, but bottom just broke out. I was left holding the neck in one hand and bottom in the other...with 5 1/2 gallons of chocolate peanut butter stout everywhere. No injuries but a lot of cleanup. It also cost me new...

New to Kegging w/ Free Pin Locks - Question

My cousin is management-level sales with Coca Cola. He brought me (6) pin lock kegs at a fantastic price...free! All are clean inside with just a few stickers on the outside and all hold pressure. I have always bottled, but am ready to keg and have all the lines, fittings, tank and regulator...

Houston ,TX Brew Pubs, Microbreweries, etc?

I will be in Houston the week of 3/11 while my SWMBO receives treatment at MD Anderson. We are staying nearby. Any Brew Pubs, microbreweries LHBS stores close by? I'll have some down/alone time and SWMBO will send me off to have A BEER with her blessings.

    Cleaning bottles

I rinse my bottles, but usually soak in OxyClen/TSP (HBT PBW alternative) overnight. I also was given 500 rinsed, but labeled, bottles from a friend who manages a Mellow Mushroom resturant locally. IThe OxyClean/TSP does a good job of cleaning and removing labels, although some are more...

Bourbon Barrel Old Ale Secondary Question

I've had a Midwest Bourbon Barrel Old Ale on oak cubes and 16+ Oz. of Makers Mark in the secondary since Jan 1. The temp is 58-58* (kept in garage). Any suggestions on how long to keep in secondary before bottling? I figure it'll be late April to early May before ambient temp will be much...

    First 2 Liter Yeast Starter

I have my first 2 liter yeast starter on the stirplate with Belgian Ardennes (Wyeast Labs #3522). It is fermenting well after 8 hours. I planned to let it ferment 24-36 hours and then refrigerate for a brew in 6 days. Is this okay or do I need to brew sooner?
