    Keg diameter for cutout

I've seen conflicting measurements on the diameter of a corny keg. I need to make some cutouts so that I can measure chest freezers. Is it 8.5" or 9"?

    Lowes Coupons on Ebay?!?

Has anyone checked out the coupons that are on Ebay? They have ones for 10% and 20% off for like $5-$8. Pretty sweet if you're looking for a chest freezer like I am! With tax return set to direct deposit this week, 8.9 Whirlpool here I come! And with a 20% off coupon, it's just at about $200...

    Possible Infection??

Just about to bottle my Stout, and after taking the lid off, I found some serious stuff floating on the top of my beer. It's been done fermenting for over a week, and it's not really soft like krausen, but more like hard protein rafts. Here's a link to the pictures. For some reason I can't get...

    Kegerator Kit from Ebay...need advice

OK, so I've been trying to price kegerator kits now that Christmas is over, and still no kegs :( I found this one from the Beverage Factory It doesn't come with Kegs, but I have a cheap source locally or can get them from the guy that was posting on here for very reasonable pricing. What I'm...

Foamy top on beer in Primary. Ready for Secondary?

If my beer, a Stout, still has a little frothiness on top but seems to be done fermenting, is it ok to rack to secondary?

    5 Gallon Recipe's....5 drinkable gallons??

OK, so something sort of perplexes me about recipe formulation. Are most recipe's written to give you 5gallons in the primary? Not taking into consideration trub loss? I'd really like to get 5 drinkable gallons everytime I brew. Do I need to adjust a majority of recipes to 5.5 gallons or even 6?

What size bit to drill lid for fermenting bucket?

I have a ton of 4gallon food grade plastic buckets, and I would like to make use of them for smaller batches. I need to drill the lids though, and was wondering if anyone knows what size bit I'd want to use for common stoppers?

    Artesian Well

I have an artesian well right down the street from my house, and used the water for my first AG, EdWort's Haus Pale. I am going to do a Stout this weekend, and was wondering if based on the water makeup below, is there anything I should do to the water? I've read that many people use 5.2, seems...

What to do with a Mr.Beer?

I recently purchased a ton of bottles and a capper off of craigslist, and the guy threw in a Mr.Beer fermentor thing with it. Is there anything useful that I can do with it? I don't want to just throw it away, then find out it makes an awesome gadget of some sort.

    Double Batches?

I was just curious how many people brew 2 batches at once? I would figure that as long as you had 2 burners, 2 pots, and 2 mlt that it would cut the time in half required for 2 batches of beer. That sounds nice to me!

Yet another first AG day today!

I too had my AG Cherry popped today. It was gentle, just like EdWort promised. I did bleed a little though, kind of embarassing. Anyways, I also did EdWort's Haus Pale as my first, and man am I happy! I had a couple mishaps....cut my thumb on my thermometer case. Don't ask me how it happened...

5/8" Stainless Steel Washer for MLT

OK, so with no luck finding a 5/8" stainless steel fender washer....I was wondering if using a different type of washer that was the same size and SS would work? Is the Fender part of the equation absolutely neccesary, or could I get away with a different type?

    Ice Cream Freezer for Kegerator??

I have access to an unwanted Good Humor freezer. The kind with the glass sliding top. It'd be free, but would it be very possible to turn this into a kegerator? Anyone ever seen it done??

    Salt Lake City Club??

Any of you fellow inmates of Utah know of a brewing club? I would really like to join something like this after seeing the talk about group brews and such. I think it would be extremely beneficial to actually watch someone, instead of just reading about it.

    Doh.....can't find bottle capper

OK, so all of my bottles and equipment is in a soak of Iodophor, and it seems that I have lost my bottle capper in the move to Utah. What's my best option? Let them sit in there until tomorrow? Take everything out, seal it in a sanitized Tote? Resanitize tomorrow....which I really don't want to...

Gott Cooler Mash Tun as Bottling Bucket?

OK, well finally got my 10 Gallon Gott Cooler Mash Tun made! Woohoo! I'm really excited about my first all grain this weekend. One question, anyone see a problem with me using this as my bottling bucket as well? Would work well with the ball lock valve, but would the stainless brade filter any...

    Check this Keg out....looks odd??

I am currently wanting a Keggle, and saw this one on the local ads. http://www.ksl.com/?nid=218&ad=2057151&cat=&lpid= It looks sort of odd shaped compared to others I've seen turned into Keggles. Any suggestions??

Long Time Lurker from Salt Lake City

Hey everyone, I've been lurking on here for years. The past month or so I've been really intently reading posts and sucking as much knowledge from the boards as possible. I decided today that it has been so indespensable to me that I might as well post for the first time, as well as become a...
