    Nightmare of a Brew Day

Just felt like I needed to share my nightmare of a brew day yesterday. On a whim (and because I hadn' t brewed in ages) I picked up a Honey Ale kit from Midwest Supplies. I wanted to get a beer into a fermentor because all I've got is an Apfelwein fermenting, and my kegs are quickly becoming...

    Re-using Apfelwein Kegs. Safe?

I've got my first batch of Apfelwein fermenting, but from just about every post on this forum, it seems this won't be the last batch I make. One of the things I want to make sure of is that I avoid cross-contamination or anything that might disrupt my homebrewing process. I plan on kegging...

Transporting Homebrew out of the Country

I'm planning on taking a trip in August from Maryland (USA) to Canada. What laws, if any, exist that could prevent me from doing that? I'm not familiar with transportation laws. I was planning on doing a single 5 gallon keg's worth of beer and wanted to take it along on our trip.

Deja Vu? No! Just another round of the Midwest Supplies Groupon!

$64 for a GREAT Starting Homebrew Kit Many threads already exist on the logistics of this deal, but it's a great deal and definitely worth it, just for the kits alone!

    Tap Rite T742-2 2-Gauge 2-Outlet CO2 Regulator

I'm upgrading to a dual body CO2 regulator and need to offload my barely-used, CO2 regulator with dual gauge regulator. This regulator has dual gauges to show working pressure and tank pressure. It also has an outlet splitter installed with dual shutoff levers - each with antibackflow device...

Midwest Groupon is back! $64 for a beginner kit, redeemable online. (21-Mar-2012)

I threw this link up in the equipment forum, but figured it would fit well in the Beginners Beer Brewing forum, as well. The Midwest Groupon for a $64 starter kit is back online as of March 21st, 2012. Here's a link to the kit. It's redeemable online, so there's no concern over which city...

Here's a link to the latest Midwest Groupon. I think this is a great way to get started, or even make additions to your current set of equipment!

    Switching beer between kegs

Luckily enough, my LHBS (MDHB) is going to let me swap out my pin-lock-converted-to-ball-lock kegs to true ball-lock kegs. I wanted to do this, because the size of my current kegs is too wide for my kegerator. Last friday, I racked a stout to one of the kegs and it's currently SIAFI carbing...

    Maryland Brewer, Checking In

Been posting around a few of the forums here, but figured I'd hop on the introduction board before things really started taking off! Doesn't seem to be a very active Maryland board, but I've really enjoyed my interactions with HBT so far! Seems like a really great community of helpful...

    Cheapest Buy For Ball Locks

With my LHBS jacking the prices WAY up ($38 two weeks ago, $65 this week) I'm faced with finding an alternative to purchasing ball lock kegs. Kegconnection is currently running a deal where orders over $100 ship for free, and they have refurbished ball lock kegs for $49.95. Throw in a $.30...

Danby DIY Kegerator - CO2 on Outside Plans

I was digging through posts earlier and found plans/pictures of someone who had converted a Danby mini-fridge and drilled through the "hump" in the back for their Co2 bottle. The bottle sits on the outside of the fridge and the inside setup looked really clean. For the life of me I can't seem...
