    Basement Brewery Walls

@matt_m I mounted the control panel to a 3/4" plywood board. I then used lag bolts/washers to attach that board through the metal panels and directly into the studs. That is the recommended mounting option by eBrewSupply. I understand why they recommend that, mounting the panel to the board...

    Insignia 9.9

Thanks. I guess I can try the corn starch and alcohol trick as well.

    Insignia 9.9

Hi everyone, I'm leaning towards picking up an Insignia 9.9cu ft fridge to convert for a kegerator. I am pretty sure I'll be able to gete 4 kegs in there. I'd like to keep the CO2 on the outside. Does anyone have experience drilling through the side of this one? I can't find a schematic of the...

    Basement Brewery Walls

After I saw the price and annoyance of installing FRP panels, I also wanted something different. I got metal roofing from Lowe's and put it on the walls. A sheet is a little more than 2' wide and pretty simple to install and cut around outlets, etc. I think it was like $10 a sheet. I put this...

Any advice on 4" inline fans?

Yeah, they are pretty salty. I didn't want to miss around with crawling in my attic again, so the 10 year warranty was a bonus.

Any advice on 4" inline fans?

I have the Vortex 6" in my electric brewery. It works great. I installed a dial so I could vary the speed. When my bathroom exhaust fan was going, I replaced it with the Vortex 4". It's amazing. My mirror hasn't been fogged up since I installed it. I run it at full bore...

    Liquid yeast help

Wyeast 1028 (London Ale) can go down to 60. I've never pushed it that low, but I like it in my porters.

Thinking of getting a stir plate. Is there any reason to get a brewing stir plate over a lab plate?

I guess if the location you will be making your starter in doesn't maintain room temperature (70F). I wouldn't spend more for one with heat, as it's simple enough for me to let it sit on the kitchen counter.

Thinking of getting a stir plate. Is there any reason to get a brewing stir plate over a lab plate?

I don't know of any reason to go one way over the other. I haven't seen a lab plate be cheaper than a brewing one though. I have the StirStarter and have been very happy with it.

valve choosing for extinguisher to co2 tank conv.

These are two different size necks and for two different types of metal (steel vs. aluminum). My first job was repairing fire extinguishers. I would recommend a valve made for steel with tapered threads. The CO2 pressures are quite high, so you'll need a good vise to ensure you can get the...

Ventilation Regulations for Indoor Natural Gas Brewing

It would probably be in the NFPA. My Dad sells the fire systems in commercial kitchens, and this is "the bible".

    Georgia Refractometer w/ATC

Ok, thanks. I'd prefer one with the SG guage built-in. Good luck!

    Georgia Refractometer w/ATC

The Amazon link shows that this is Brix only, without a corresponding SG guage. Is that correct?
