If you don't mind the work then it'll be worth the effort. Just maybe insulate it a bit more than you have in the past to let the ice last longer and you'll be fine.
Yup, that is what you need to be careful about. It'll take a while to freeze 20-24L of beer but it is a real danger, even more so if you are using glass since... boom...
Yea you'll want this to be in the range of 0-5C; aim higher if you don't have a controller to avoid freezing the beer, the freezing point is a bit below water's but breathing room is a good thing.
I never said sopping wet but it gets around enough that its just not worth the aggro and frankly pi$$ stinks, I don't mind taking the couple extra seconds sitting involves. That being said the splashback does depend on the toilet since the shallower the bowl the better chance of splash getting out.
Hopefully you get answers to your questions above, I'd say on weight you are probably fine to leave them solid (unless they weigh like a pound each anyway). I'd just give em a good cleaning and get them sealed/polished vs. the carving. Pretty sure to attach them to the taps you just need a...
Yea gotta agree with @HopHunter here. I stand and use urinals outside the home (but I'll still sit at the 'work bathroom' if I've no choice cause when you go to the same spot multiple times a day and the janitorial staff cleans about once a year... MUN is disgusting) but otherwise sit cause that...
I think the high viscosity may be a bit of an issue but I can't say exactly why, just seems like you'd be quite susceptible to stratification of the sugar/water/alcohol during the fermentation. Either way should be interesting.
Pretty much have to echo the above, airlock activity is a good indicator of gas going through the airlock and nothing else. Check the gravity, if it is stable and you've hit your dry hop timing you are good to go.
You can also use smaller soda bottles if you are hard-up for bottles. For me the main motivation for getting a bench vs. wing capper was that I knew I wouldn't find a whole lot of pop-top bottles but had family with like 10 cases of twist offs they wanted rid of, if you've got friends who like...
The above is why I've been debating getting an adaptor for paintball CO2 cartridges as a backup. I see them on Amazon for <$20 and a decent tank can't be much more than that.
Keg lube and star-san. Use the Star-san to tell where the leak is and use the keg lube to seal it off if you can. Also check the o-rings on the posts, if they are old or cracked that'll be the problem.
