Just curious what you think the max amount of pre-boil liquid one could safely boil in a half-barrel keggle? It would be electric and I'd use something to control the foam/boilover. Do you think 13.5g would be pushing it?

Run the first couple of minutes of return water to a container for cleaning, instead of your cooler. This will keep your reservoir water colder longer and give you nice warm water for cleaning.

You will probably be fine...there is very little oppertunity for baddies to get in as the foam is coming out. Lucky for you the airlock didn't plug and you didn't have a larger mess to cleanup. I think it happens to everyone, then they adopt the following strategy: Blowoff tube for 2-3 days...
