    Imperial IPA help

So it seems one of people who writes the recipes in the group I work with lost our sheet with all of the hop addition times on it. We also had another beer that we brewed in the mean time that might of had hops in it that were actually supposed to be used for this beer. Our problem is that we...

    Yeast for small batches

I am planning on making smaller batches that will be around 2 gallons instead of 5 which i usually do. I am not very knowledgable about yeast and am wondering how to measure out the correct amount of yeast for the small 2 gallon batches. I have no idea where to begin. I am used to just dropping...

    bumping up gravity

it was an all grain batch that was around 5 gallons and had 20 pounds of grain. We did one sparge and it was still running very dark. There is 6 ounces of hops in it! We added a lot of hops to it in order to balance out with the extreme maltiness.

    bumping up gravity

Hey i was trying to make a super high gravity ale but as soon as we measured the gravity around 1069 or about 7.9% abv. We want to bump up the alcohol content of the batch because the amount of hops that we added seems overwhelming compared to alcohol content. Would it seem like a good idea to...

    beer that can age.

So we had some trouble getting the gravity up and it seems that we were only able to get about 7.8% which is not very good. Any suggestions on what to do to bump up the gravity? I am debating putting 2 to 4 pounds of brown sugar in the beer during secondary. The beer is waaaaaaay too hoppy for...

    beer that can age.

I am wonder at what ABV does a beer have to be in order for it to age well. I am planning on doing a strong ale that is anywhere from 8 to 10 percent abv. It will not be a barley wine! tell me if I should go higher.

    no rinse and other questions

I have been brewing for a while now and I have been very vigilant with sanitation. I normally use no rinse sanitizer but have no time for it to dry so I end up thoroughly washing all of my equipment until there are no bubbles and or that slippery feeling. What seems odd though is that on the...

It is that time again to brew a new recipe. This time around I am looking to do a nice and simple pale ale. The recipe i wrote is is simple and I i feel like I can count of the forum to critique it and say if anything seems like a grave mistake in brewing this. So the recipe goes like this...
