Wow. I participated in this thread over 2 years ago and FINALLY got myself some gear. Brewing the Northern Brewer Chinook IPA kit first. Wish me luck!

Where to (or not to) ferment in an apartment.

That is probably the best answer I was looking for.

What is the swamp cooler/ T-shirt method? Thanks so much for all the replies, guys! It really helps.

Where to (or not to) ferment in an apartment.

So being in a closet with clothes or in a room with washer and dryer won't hurt it? I originally planned to use our walk-in pantry but our kitchen garbage is also stored in there.

Where to (or not to) ferment in an apartment.

I'm still a beginner, have taken a brewing course and am still in the researching phase and haven't made my own batch yet. I live in an apartment with no garage and am low on space. I know temperature is one determining factor on where to place my fermenting bucket, but what other factors are...

I'm a noob who does everything wrong

I'm still such a noob that I haven't brewed my first batch yet. Still researching and learning as much as I can until I buy the gear. Until I had taken a recent class I was totally intimidated. Seeing stuff like this helps and is reassuring.

First fruit secondary, how to sanitize puree?

That's actually what I meant to say. I said sweetness when I meant flavor. Oops!

Yeast, when willl my body adjust?

Sounds like doing it low carb or paleo style for the meals that go along with home brew will be best.

Specific Questions About Wee Heavy Kit

I don't know if this will help, but maybe looking at these recipes may give an idea? This site tends to explain it well. http://www.brewmasterswarehouse.com/recipes/scottish-and-irish-ale/strong-scotch-ale

First fruit secondary, how to sanitize puree?

About adding to the kettle, wouldn't adding it that early cut a lot of the sweetness you'd get from adding it to the fermenter?

New Brewer, About To Buy Startup Kit ... Good Price?

Keeps you from waiting several weeks to brew the next batch. Heck, get as many as you can!

New Brewer, About To Buy Startup Kit ... Good Price?

I'm about to invest in a starter kit as well. Here's the place I've been looking at: http://www.brewmasterswarehouse.com/equipment/equipment-starter-kits They are local to me, good people, and I attended my first brewing class there. I think they ship as well.
