15 inch false bottom STAND question

I will add that I run a RIMS system with a bottom drain keggle mashtun recirculated with a march pump. If i were to try and make a stand I would just enlarge a few holes and run some ss machine screws through the fb to the bottom of the keg and be done

15 inch false bottom STAND question

I have a Jaybird false bottom in my sanke and I've filled the mashtun all the way to the top and the thing didn't cave. Just checked out beersmith for my biggest beer and was able to stuff 34 lbs of grain in the tun with no stand no problems.

    Screwys vanilla oatmeal stout.

I usually just lightly starsan my knife, cutting board, and beans. Then split scrape and drop everything in the bottom rack on top and you're done for a bit. There is no magic time for anything beer related so after a little while start taking little samples. When it's to your liking bottle/keg.

    False Bottom!

could get a piece of threaded rod or something similar and tie the bag around it and sit it on the kettle rim. Should be pretty cheap and available

Best cheap commercial beer you've ever had?

Another vote for PBR. On a hot day half PBR half sprite makes a hell of a redneck shandy mmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Narrowed Online Keg Sites To 3... But Who To Order From?

I got my stuff from kegconnection and the service was good and everything came as described. Cornys are getting a little more scarce due to soda in a bag so prices and availability are going to be an issue. That being said kegconnection also sends the stuff assembled which is nice, I've never...

    Yet another False Bottom question...

I have a JB false bottom and couldn't be happier. There's not much to them so a good fit is needed. Jaybirds fit like a glove. So if the name alone is worth money to you get the sabco

High final gravity -- wort or yeast?

S-05 has always worked very well for me. It routinely ferments down to the 1.010 range when I mash for it. The only strain I've had issues with is nottingham. Same wort into 2 fermenters notty recently takes forever to start and has a slight off flavor. These sachets are not it the recall group...

    Brewing software

Another vote for beersmith. I tried promash but I liked beersmith better. There are free trials available so try a few and see what YOU think

Sanke Keg Tube - Good for Anything?

I plan on using mine as the filter for a randall thats not yet built. I just got a 5 inch filter housing and I think it would work great. I like to have stainless wherever possible

    Blow-Off for Imperial Stout

Anything thats close and wont tip over will do just fine. All you need to do is keep it sumbmerged it doesn't matter how much starsan vodka etc... you use

    Vanilla Bean Addition Question

I used 1 bean per 5 gallons and it was good but it did sit for close to 3 weeks. If I were to do it again I would put 2 beans in and less time. Also I split the beans scraped out the goodness than put everything into the fermenter.

Should I buy a used Barley Crusher?

Even my Monster Mill MM-3 sliped sometimes. It came from tightening stuff down a little too much. I'd just pick it and see what you can make of it for that price.
