Just saw this thread and brewed my 1st batch yesterday and just put my bucket in the tote with water.
If my beer started fermenting at 80+ degrees for about 16 hours, is it ruined?
Also there is brown liquid in the airlock, should I beer concerned?

I brewed my 1st batch yesterday and transferred it into the 5 gallon fermenting bucket. The temperature reading is 79-80 degrees right now. It is sitting in my laundry room on a table and apparently that room isn't going to be cool enough.
Any suggestions on how to get the temperature down...
