IMO I think you would be fine but I'm not 100% on this. I mean if you washed it if course it would be better but I've heard people brewing like this for barley wines all the time. I would say go for it.

Wort chiller all the way man! Or you could build a counter flow chiller! Easy decision IMO! Invest in a chiller of some sort!

When u say rooting clipping, can u root side shoots or do they have to be clippings from the rhizome?
