Thank you guys! Geez I've hit it with some PBW, soaked it up and it looks clean but still has that scent. I've taken the spears apart completely to give them a better cleaning. Thanks for the input!@
Hello all. I've had 3 kegs that were sitting around for almost 6 months in my back yard in 80-90 degree weather while I was out of the country. The beers in there were an IPA. I've never had a phenolic off-flavor in any of these beers, but when I was cleaning these kegs I noticed they had a...
Hello everyone,
I recently purchased the blichmann quickcarb and it worked pretty well once or twice, but now I"m not sure why, but it seems to not be carbonating as well.
So before with a temp of roughly 4C, I would use the quickcarb according to the instructions by hitting it with 13PSI for...
Sorry to revive this old thread, but I have a chugger pump now and on the outlet side I have a ball valve. Does this mean that once the pump is primed and flow is established the outlet valve can be closed completely w/o ill effect?
Hi there. I'm working on Beersmith 2 and have noticed that in the Mash tab the length of the mash doesn't seem to affect the OG whether I set the mash length to 10 minutes or 90 minutes it remains the same.
Am I doing something wrong here? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Wow thank u so much for that! Really appreciate it! I did notice the sanke kit having a 12v (or 10?) power plug. Not sure why a sanke would require more power to the pump than the corny keg one. Any idea why that is?
Perfect. Because I dry hopped a beer for 2 days and it is the best IPA I have made so far, but when I told some "pros" they were giving me crap while I just think the proof is in the pudding. Had I not told them I dry hopped for 2 days vs a week or whatever I think they would have had a...
I think I'll start this post by answer my own question. I would assume it does work so long as there is a coupler w/ ball locks on it. However, I thought I'd go ahead and ask before spending $150 on this thing.
I only have Sanke kegs and am just wondering if there is anything structurally...
Bit of a controversial title, but hear me out. I've got some buddies who own commercial breweries who I shoot the ish w/ once in a while. I've brought up things like "cold break" where the master brewer of many years who told me "I've heard of that term. Really don't know what it is." in a...
Hello everyone,
I've been looking for better ways to ferment/transfer beer and came across a tool on a couple homebrew sites. One of these attachments also includes a cleaning attachment which is demoed in this video below. However, looking at the pressure of the water using the chugger (same...
Sorry I'm a bit confused. I have a regulator on my co2 tank that I can adjust the PSI going to the keg, but the coupler on the keg doesn't have anything that reads the pressure. Can you explain what it means to set the keg to 10psi?
Thanks for the prompt reply. My sister lives in Renton up a giant hill from an IKEA near there.
Both kegs were carbed in the same temp-controlled freezer.
First I used a party tap with about 3ft of line and had said results from each keg. Then I used a bit of a longer tube, about 4 ft of...
