That's what I use! Lol!

Best thing ever... you fill it with hot water which sits below a shallow "dish" that has holes in it for the steam to rise through.. perfect warm lather every time. If you're patient you can get one for a few bucks. If not, maybe 10 or 15. Pair it up with a cheap Walgreens or CVS brush and you've got a bargain lather set.

Wow just did my first attempt at a wet shave (had to use my old Fusion my new razr hadnt arrived yet) used a little TOBS Mr taylors cream whipped it all up and my god best shave ive ever had top it off with a little Real Shaving aftershave cream and my face feels BBS cant wait to actually move into using the DE when it gets here. I cant believe ive shaved any other way.
Care to share your soap "recipe".
Aside from the cost of the tools ($70 for the Futur, $55 for the HD, $30 for the 60R) I am really loving the savings over the ME cartridge systems. Last time I bought refills it was a whopping $35+Tax for 10 cartridges. And that was at WalMart! One cartridge would get me two shaves, at best, of my face and head. No more!
I will keep using the Mach 3 for my head until I am more comfortable with the DE. But at $0.95 for a pack of 10 "Best Value" blades up to $8.00 for a pack of 10 Feather blades the savings is still pretty high.
Just learn to strop. Its easy. For honing, have someone else do it once or twice a year.
Buy a cheap strop and learn on it until you stop gouging out little triangles of leather, then get a good one. It takes about a week or so of practice to get it down...
Close shave? Hell, Id'e be happy with any razor that my woman will keep her hands off of.
I know when she gets a hold of it to shave her legs because as I pull the razor across my face, I can feel each individual hair being uprooted!
Switch to a straight razor. That might slow her down.
Ordered some TOBS Eton College today. Excited to try it.

I'm jumping on the bandwagon I suppose. I've never shaved with a DE or straight so I'm excited to experience the change. I just pulled on a Dreadnought from shavenation.com. If I like the DE I might go after one of the TI Spartacus straights down the road. Also got a couple proraso products since i love mentholated shampoos/shaving creams. I'll post some feedback after everything gets in.
Maybe they really liked the smell too
Hey fellas. I haven't posted in this thread before but I'm a wet shaver. Not exactly a veteran, but 2+ years every day (military). I splurged on this fella earlier this week after indulging in a few homebrews and just swiped my weekend beard off with it. Hot damn, I've owned a few straights but nothing has compared to this. I'm a DE user (R41 Grande with Feather is my daily) and this baby is just as easy to use as a DE and much sharper than any straight I've seen, with no upkeep. The handle is dense rubber and fit and finish are perfect as you would expect from the Japanese; The balance is so good and the handle can be held anywhere. Much more forgiving than a traditional straight, I shaved in the same amount of time that I normally would with a DE my first time using it. Highly recommended.
