Im brewing a recipe with an expected OG of 1.077. Should my starter wort be 1.077 as well? I'll be using WY1056. Thanks

No.. The starter should be 1.035-1.040. You want to grow a bunch of healthy yeast, so you don't want to stress them. A starter of 1.040 or less would be a great way to grow yeast.

Yeah, 1.040 is what the experts say. It's pretty easy to do (~10% dry extract in water; I'll do 150G of dry extract in 1.35 L of water to get 1.5 L or so of wort after boiling for a few minutes).
