Mashtun Cooler Valve Tightness

I used the Bargain Fittings kit on my Home Depot 10 gallon round cooler. The valve is water proof and can open and close easily. But I can spin it if I pull too hardly on it. Am I doing something wrong?

Mine will spin if I put too much pressure on it, still does not leak.
