Johnson digital controller

So I fired up my freezer with the controller today (haven't used it in the past year) and noticed the unit is reading -8F, thats a negative 8F.

freezer isnt on, but the controller is reading that as it's current temperature. I can go through the menus ok including SP and dF, etc..

Does anyone have an idea what may be wrong, perhaps the temperature probe?

Could be a bad probe or a bad connection. Check your connections first. If it is not a waterproof probe and it gets condensation/water inside it then it will not read correctly anymore and needs to be replaced.
