Just wondering if different varieties of fresh picked hop cones have different aromas? I ask because I picked my Goldings today and to me the aroma was the same as when I harvested the Cascade a few weeks ago. I wasn’t expecting a huge difference I guess, but thought there may be something different about them. Am curious to know what others have experienced.

I find Chinook to be the most different of the ones I grow [Chinook, Cascade, Centennial, Columbus, Willamette]. It has the most 'fresh' piney aroma of those.
The others are pretty similar aroma-wise. The Centennial is more garlic/onion.

Thank you, that’s very helpful. This is the first time I’ve had any goldings to pick, only having harvested cascade before, so not much frame of reference.
