I just got a kit for my birthday and it's a regular Belgian Ale. It came with I think 3 different hops so it may be leaning closer to an IPA type. I want to put some flavor into it and was looking for some suggestions?

I made a Belgian Ale a while back, and tossed in some banana slices, and a vanilla bean that I had split down the middle (along with about a half-cup of extra corn syrup.) The final product was really good. Just be careful not to boil the bananas too long, I guess you can release pectin into the beer. (I tossed mine in with the hops, but a lot of people seem to add fruit after transferring to the secondary.)

FYI, I'm new, I've only made three batches, so I defer to people who have more experience... maybe my advice is terrible...
