When I check the "late extract addition" in Beersmith, and tell it to add it after the boil, Beersmith seems to think I'm adding my malt extract with the yeast. On the report pages, it's adding 5 lbs of DME after the wort is cooled and the yeast is pitched.
If I tell it not to do after the boil, but instead boil for 0 minutes, it cuts my IBUs from 30 to 18. Telling it to boil for 1 minute seems to work but that isn't what I typically do, as I add my extract at knockout.
Any advice? Thanks!
