Thanks a bunch for the info. I might pm you if I have more questions. I read about Hawks Nest and Water Lemon Key. Plan on doing those. We were also looking into hiking the north-south trail that goes down to an old plantation and the south end of the island. Our big decision is lodging...

Just wondering if anyone had been there. I owe my wife a nice vacation for our 10 year anniversary. We're pretty sure we want to stay on St. John for 4 nights. Anything out of the typical worth seeing? Any places to avoid?

    Second Batch: Need Recs

Northern Brewer make a sam adams clone using ale yeast I believe. I think it's called john q. marblehead or something to that effect. I thought about pulling the trigger on it, but I can't seem to find enough time to brew lately.

Help me figure this out . . .

Someone from our church told me about zennioptical.com. They've had good luck with them. I just got contacts, and I'm planning on buying a cheap backup pair from them.

If you're willing to head north, Titgemeier's does a good business. Good selection and great prices. I drove down to B.G.once, but was very unimpressed with their store.

That's exactly what I'm looking for. Will 1 year in a fermenter and about 6 months aging in bottles be too short? Thanks for the tips on doubling things.

    Help constructing recipe

Yeah, my local HB store has pretty good prices. Guess I never thought about honey being the same price as LME, I was just trying to keep pretty close to that recipe. Well, if this batch doesn't come out good enough, I might have to up the LME next time. The exact recipe called for adding the...

I planned on adding the honey at flame out. I always use a hydrometer, but just wanted a rough idea because I've never used this much honey in a recipe before.
