Looking for a Hoppy Stout Recipe

I think Fuggles, Nugget, Willamette, Warrior, and Galena provide the best bittering. Especially Nugget, Warrior, and Galena for Stouts. I like Fuggles for Porters, but they work ok for stouts too.

    Burner Issues

I just bought a used Craigslist Bayou Classic Burner. And I'm having trouble getting it ready. It's meant to be propane, he had at some point converted it to all natural gas, and was quitting homebrewing, so he was selling, it was only 15$. The first picture is how the burner looks now...

    First Time Brewing This Weekend

This weekend will be my first time brewing. I have an IPA recipe I created, all-grain. What are the big things I need to be cognizant about as I brew? What should I be looking out for? What kind of notes should I be keeping? Any other advice? Thanks!

Steve: Will still have to wait for the cones for that right? I've never smelled anything straight from the plant itself before.

    YouTube

Ok, thanks cswis. I don't think I need an actual step-by-step-by-step video or anything, but a video aimed at brewers who have only done 1-10 batches would be nice.

    Saaz Hops Plant Help

Yea, luckily this was a free rhizome/plant from Troegs on Earth Day (last year they gave out Chinook, this year Saaz). I have 2 chinook, 1 cascade, and 2 nuggets to go along with this. So I definitely have enough home-grown hops to be ok. Just surprised by how this one was growing, I haven't...

    Saaz Hops Plant Help

Hopefully it'll start picking up soon then. Its 86 degrees here today, and its sitting in perfect sunlight right now. I watered it this morning. It rained pretty much all day Saturday and Sunday. Was nice and off/on sunny/cloudy Monday and yesterday was a beautiful day like today as well. So...

    Hop Identification Help Please

Ok, thanks for the suggestions. Thats why I even waited this long to post. I figured I'd let the plant grow a bit in the water to see what type it was. Honestly didn't expect the cuttings to turn into a rhizome. Otherwise I might have put more thought into my cuttings instead of just throwing...

    Hop Identification Help Please

So, last year I had gotten 2 chinook and 1 cascade rhizomes. Planted them, they did great. Cut them down at the end of the season, and threw the cuttings in the compost. This spring, when starting to dig around the compost, I found one of the cuttings turned into a rhizome. And...
