I think Fuggles, Nugget, Willamette, Warrior, and Galena provide the best bittering. Especially Nugget, Warrior, and Galena for Stouts. I like Fuggles for Porters, but they work ok for stouts too.

This weekend will be my first time brewing. I have an IPA recipe I created, all-grain. What are the big things I need to be cognizant about as I brew? What should I be looking out for? What kind of notes should I be keeping? Any other advice? Thanks!

Ok, thanks cswis. I don't think I need an actual step-by-step-by-step video or anything, but a video aimed at brewers who have only done 1-10 batches would be nice.

Yea, luckily this was a free rhizome/plant from Troegs on Earth Day (last year they gave out Chinook, this year Saaz). I have 2 chinook, 1 cascade, and 2 nuggets to go along with this. So I definitely have enough home-grown hops to be ok. Just surprised by how this one was growing, I haven't...
