    I didn't adjust my final sugar to accommodate the extra volume from the higher then expected yield...and just used the pre measured 5 oz baggies at my lhbs, that is what I'm asking if. Can just pop the tops and and some sugar. Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

    Maple syrup priming

    That's the one I used after the fact and is now saved in my favorites. I put them in storage bins with the cover on... I'm really hoping they turn out ok.. Last porter I made was under carbed.     Maple syrup priming

    Ok.. I'm new to this. I just found a priming calculator but a little too late. I primed a smoked porter with a cup of maple syrup. I just checked the calculator and it says 1/3 of a cup... Should I be worried about bottle bombs? Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

    Thanks for the encouragement! I saw the exact method (the right method) on you tube and that is when I realized what I did wrong. I hit my temps (assuming my thermometer is accurate) and times perfectly. I just drained all my mash water then just rinsed the grains with a spinning fly sparger.

    Agree with Kenyos.. If you go all grain your going to need 6.5gallon minimum.

    So it should taste ok but my efficiency is going to be crap.. I guess I'll just have to drink 10 instead of six.. How much do you think the efficiency would be effected?
