    Diy tap tower, and handle.

So I just got done building a new tower for my father-inlaw. Forgot to take pix of the build progression. But here is some pictures anyway. Without poly acrylic clear coat. The back access panel is on the bench to the right. Made out of leftover redwood from my deck, with some chalkboard...

    Home made single tier brewstand

We started with storing them under. But now we're over it, and started leaving them on top. Maybe we're just lazy. It will still fit under the stand, but it's easier for us to leave it on top.

4'11" it looks tall because it's so awesome in comparison to every thing else. Actually I don't know if that's tall or not lol.

As promised, completed pix. Getting ready to fire it up. Pump mount Put truck bed liner on the bottom of the stand to prevent rust. Eventually when our wife's are over the money shock of it, it will turn into a Brutus 10 system. But for now we'll be happy with it.

    Home made single tier brewstand

So it's been a few months, and Christmas has come and gone. So we have a lot of upgrades added to our system. About $1000 worth. Going to give it a try tomorrow. Added: a second BG14, pid controller, Thermocouple, pilot light for hlt, installed new plate chiller ( dudadeisel ), new 20 gal mash...

    Home made single tier brewstand

I've got a buddy with the 20 plate. He said he opened it all the way and the wort came out around 2* higher than his tap water. There good chillers for the buck.

I'll try that out. We have a new duda diesel 30 platechiller, the 18" one that we haven't put on yet. So I flip it and post the pix.

Some newer pix with the propane line ran. Will be adding more stuff to it soon! Can't reveal too much on the additions, because my father-in-law gets on here all the time and I don't want to ruin the surprised.

Has anyone used this Temp Controller?

They have the same ones on eBay, I say that because i am in the market for another one. I have the celsius one and it's worked great. But also I am thinking on getting the Fahrenheit one. If the only deference is the F instead of C, then I don't think there would be a problem with them.

Which is better, Angle Iron or Square stands?

I'm guessing your in Utah, if so you can go to metal mart in lehi to get your metal for cheap. They often have sales on overstock. I was able to build mine for around $80 as well. I used square tubbing because I like working with it more than angle an IMO I think it looks better.

    Single Tier Brew Stand Build

Flat to flat is 11" there 10" diameter. It seems like the bolt holes aren't centered so you may want to mark and drill each individual bolt hole for each burner.

50' wort chiller? How to make it more efficient.

I realize you may not have the money for it, but if you can sell your chiller take the money you would use for a pump and spend a little more you could get a plate chiller. Here is a link for some good priced plate chillers...

    ghetto brew setups?...

There is still lifting involved, but it's far less than before. And it's not like putting together an erector set every time we brew;)

    propane manifold and burner question

Stealthcruiser is right that stand is 1 1/4" and the sleeve that goes up and down it is 1 1/2" 16 gage with set screws. The frame around the burner is 1" strap. And yes I made it.

    propane manifold and burner question

You can go about mounting them several different ways, it all depends on if you want to be able to move them or keep them stationary. Here are some ways I've done it. This design can be moved up and down. This one is attached to the wind shield. And I've seen some others on here that...

Propane Burner Windscreen, CHEAP AND EASY!!

Yeah, just your normal sheet of ducting. Ours was a larger piece that we cut down to fit. But it did it's job with no problems. The only reason we stopped using it was because we upgraded our setup. But I would imagine it would have last another few years.

Propane Burner Windscreen, CHEAP AND EASY!!

We did the same thing on our bg14, brewed on it for a year and never had a problem.
