Just got around to joining the forum, my father in-law (brew partner) has been on here for awhile. But I though I would put up some pics of the brew stand we just finished this weekend. And see what you guys think!

That's up to date on that build. The plan is to install two more bg14, another pump, along with one more kettle for our mash.

Thanks, they had a sell at the metal mart near me for $10 a 20' length. It took about 4 pieces at $40 plus tax. Total investment for all supplies to build the stand including grinding wheels and wire was $130. So well worth the money spent. Tons of room to grow on as well:) cheers!

Very nice and cool how you made it to fit under the bench.
Yup, that's awesome planning there. Excellent job, you'll have to let us know how you like the rig after you try it out.

Out of curiosity what kind of welder did you use for this project?

I used it last Sunday, and it felt like I was stealing a batch of beer. It was so much easier withe the stand and the new chugger pump that I wanted to do another batch when we got done.
I used a Chicago flux welder, it was $75 when I got it from harbor freight. It worked out well.

Excellent job, and I agree the the ability to slide it out of the way, when not in use, is very practical. And...you built it (including welder) for around $200. Well done! :mug:

Some newer pix with the propane line ran. Will be adding more stuff to it soon! Can't reveal too much on the additions, because my father-in-law gets on here all the time and I don't want to ruin the surprised. image-1494180212.jpg image-3295231644.jpg

Stand looks great.

As a note, on your chiller, you could flip the Tee and have the thermo looking up very easily. Might be easier. Great job!

I'll try that out. We have a new duda diesel 30 platechiller, the 18" one that we haven't put on yet. So I flip it and post the pix.

Nice choice on the Duda chiller. I've got the 20 plate long version of yours. First brew going through it this Sunday. Hoping it delivers as advertised. Gonna circulate ice water from a 5 gallon bucket through it with a 265 gph pond pump.

I've got a buddy with the 20 plate. He said he opened it all the way and the wort came out around 2* higher than his tap water. There good chillers for the buck.

Bloody marvelous,
Admirable conviction to the hobby, I can't make myself buy a 6gal pot ?
I hope you really enjoy your investment and effort.

So it's been a few months, and Christmas has come and gone. So we have a lot of upgrades added to our system. About $1000 worth. Going to give it a try tomorrow.

Added: a second BG14, pid controller, Thermocouple, pilot light for hlt, installed new plate chiller ( dudadeisel ), new 20 gal mash tun, lots of fitting, second pump, and several other miscellaneous things.

(These are pix of some of the stuff, will put more pix of the rest tomorrow.)

Going to brew on it tomorrow, excited to see how all the work pans out.

As promised, completed pix. Getting ready to fire it up.

Put truck bed liner on the bottom of the stand to prevent rust.

Eventually when our wife's are over the money shock of it, it will turn into a Brutus 10 system. But for now we'll be happy with it.

4'11" it looks tall because it's so awesome in comparison to every thing else. Actually I don't know if that's tall or not lol.

We started with storing them under. But now we're over it, and started leaving them on top. Maybe we're just lazy. It will still fit under the stand, but it's easier for us to leave it on top.
