    Old heineken small kegorator repurposed?

There are ways to modify the draught keg for homebrew, but from what I have read they don't last very long after modification (like less then a year.) My little setup has proved very successful for me (see link above)

    Bored this weekend...

Yeah, that's my thought...May try it and toss it. The lack of any recipes is a pretty fair indicator... Sent from my ADR6410LVW using Home Brew mobile app

    Bored this weekend...

Thinking about trying to make ginger beer with what I have on hand. Can I sub ground ginger for fresh? Or is that just a bad idea? Sent from my ADR6410LVW using Home Brew mobile app

    Are hipsters ruining craft beer?

But is Atlanta a true southern city? The running joke is no one is actual born in the Atlanta/surrounding area they just move there. When I lived in Young Harris I met some of the kindest people. Same goes for Kansas City, MO. So I guess it's who you meet. Sent from my ADR6410LVW using Home...

    Neat potential project

Just ran across this and thought this would be a fun project to update with modern gear and a modern keg. I think I am going to start gathering the materials and make one...it just may take awhile Sent from my ADR6410LVW using Home Brew mobile app

    Are hipsters ruining craft beer?

It depends on where you are. It's like any subculture, some hipsters are obnoxious as hell...some aren't... Sent from my ADR6410LVW using Home Brew mobile app

    Joining wood for mash paddle

A couple of quick questions: Going through some wood scrape, I found some pieces of ash or oak. One is 6 3/8 x 11 and the other is 25 x 3 1/2. I figure I have enough for a smallish paddle, but one that should work. Looking at this I have the choice of joints to attach the handle to...

    Thermoreactive paint

Yeah, I saw the cost of the strips and thought that was kinda much for a goofy project. I may email Pearl to see if they can do that as well as how far will 25g go...

    Thermoreactive paint

So here's what I want to do since I use 5l mini kegs (and I am a giant nerd): I would love to be able to look at a mini keg and tell if its cold, much like a Coors(?) can. I see a few ways to do this, buy several of the stick on thermometers and cut down to range I want since I haven't been...

    JB Waterweld

Yeah, epoxy can get wonky on plastics...not sure why, which is why I thought about silicon, since it bonds well to plastic and you can get food grade as well. Possibly this product may work as well: http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3506527 Granted JB Water weld says...

    JB Waterweld

There are lots of different types of epoxy resins out there. You would have to look at the MSDS, manufacturer recommendations and if it's food safe. Also consider how you are trying to use it...would silicone, or another adhesive, work instead. What are you trying to do?

    Gas Supply Line

I have no good answer and I meant to subscribe because I am curious about the answer. I have a little experience with gas, but reading the description it is rated for indoor/outdoor so I assume it would work. Granted, since gas can be explodie you may want someone a bit smarter then me You may...

    Questions on base grains

cool, thanks. Maybe another dumb question: Should I mash the specialty, or do I steep them like in an extract?

    Questions on base grains

I am trying to move to all grain, since I now all the equipment I need and I wanted to try to convert an old extract recipe. The extract recipe is: 8 Lbs DME 1/2 lbs Black Patent Malt 1/2 lbs Roasted Barley 1/2 Lbs Crystal Malt 1/2 Lbs Chocolate Malt 1.5 oz Northern Brewer Hops 1 oz...

    Drilling a brew kettle

So I just picked up a propane burner and a 30 gallon pot for free. And I am trying to figure some stuff out. Like: What is the pot made out of? It looks like stainless steel, but I don't know. Who made this burner? And was the amount of carbon build up normal? Has anyone used the step bit set...
