    Thanks for the tips. I didn't know the amber could make it sweeter tasting. I was going for more of an American IPA taste and a friend recommended the amber DME. Also, the 45 minute was really a screw up and was supposed to be a 30 min. My OG was 1.059. So, I'm in the right range. IBU...

    Primary Carboy and Dry Hopping

    Thanks for posting. I'm getting ready to dry hop an IPA recipe I came up with. I'm using Centennial hops for the entire process. First time dry hopping. So, I'm glad someone else asked!

    First solo brew batch...

    Thanks. The recipe I used says to leave it in the bottles for at least a month, but I'm a little antsy to try it. Shelf life is supposedly only about 3 months.

    I just bottled my first solo batch today. It's a St. Peter's Porter clone. I kept it in the fermenter for 3 weeks. How long should it stay in the bottles before it's good to drink?
