New Jersey FREE! mini fridge and swamp cooler ice chests - Camden County

Audubon NJ. I have a mini fridge that I was going to turn into a kegerator. I cut the shelves off the door and took the thermostat off. I did not bend the freezer compartment down yet. I have all parts. I don't have the model number but it will fit 2 ball locks after the freezer is bent down...

New Jersey South NJ: Igloo Cube swamp coolers (2 for sale)

It might. How tall is a bucket compared to a 6.5 gal carboy?

New Jersey South NJ: Igloo Cube swamp coolers (2 for sale)

I have two Igloo Cube coolers for sale. They have been modified so that a 6.5 gallon carboy fits in them. The neck sticks out the top but the wort is safely enclosed in darkness and cool water. This cooler helps me keep my ferm temps in a decent range. They have a suitcase like handle and...

American Pale Ale (Mosaic, Amarillo, Citra and Simcoe hopped)

I was wrong. In an April 2013 byo article the temp range for whirlpool hops at sub isomerization is 160-170 which will help the essential oils in the solution and keep them from evaporating. I had it backwards.

American Pale Ale (Mosaic, Amarillo, Citra and Simcoe hopped)

Interesting recipe! I'm wondering about your whirlpool additions. In you notes you cool the wort to 180 BEFORE pitching the whirlpool hops? I thought I heard Gordon strong at NHC talk about adding whirlpool hops after the boil but before the temp dropped to 180. Something about the hop oils do...

CO2 Refills in Gloucester County Southern NJ

Sorry to dig up this old thread but I live so close by I figure I should help. I have used Camden Restaurant Supply in Audubon NJ. http://www.camdenbar.com/ Filled while you wait, 5lbs for about 20 bucks. Not the best deal in town but it is so local to me that I do not mind. They charged...

    Cask transportation and serving

You are not alone. I have this cask too. You should have seen how many casks there were at the 2013 Homebrewer's conference! It was awesome. I don't have an answer for you as I usually serve my casked beer at my home. One hint I can give is to order extra bungs while placing an order...

    The Lager Jacket

Even though I'm not sure it is something that will fit into my fermentation system I am very excited for this kickstarter. Every new homebrewing product on the market makes this hobby stronger.

    The Lager Jacket

They have no addressed the airlock yet. Right now it is two metal rods that submerge in the beer. It is basically a peltier cooler with a temp controller build in. The plastic bucket lid has two holes cut into the center to accommodate for those rods. Since the airlock hole is usually off...

    The Lager Jacket

I had no idea these guys have been around since 2011. I met Aaron at this year's homebrew conference. I think it is a great product for someone who has very limited space to ferment and can not use something larger as a fermentation chamber. Or perhaps someone who does not brew often enough to...

    Mash tun temp stability problems

How much airspace is there between the mash and the lid? I had a similar issue because I bought a cooler large enough to mash 10 gallon batches. When I tried to do a 5 gal batch the airspace inside the cooler really sucked a lot of heat. What I did was buy some hard board type house...
