Help! Herms coil too wide! Compression fitting as bulkhead??

My suggestion is to get the pot, measure it yourself an then order based on that. I got the comprwssion fittings welded to save the space. Not recommended. Definitely go with the pre rolled HERMS coil… worth every penny and just about the same price.

Wanting to add a tapper to an existing bar

You've got the space. That's the hardest part. Search for the thread that's got the keezer sizes would be my first suggestion. Then watch homebrew fines on Facebook, Twitter, etc. you can easily accomplish your goal.

Calculating OG? Adding sugar mid ferment

I'm an idiot. I was moving too quickly to notice. It does handle it. I'm still curious how to do the math though.

Calculating OG? Adding sugar mid ferment

It's pretty robust and the UI is way better than beer smith. But you're right that it's a bit sad that it doesn't handle it. It has the gravity in the addition, just doesn't calculate it into the OG etc.

Calculating OG? Adding sugar mid ferment

I have an DIPA fermenting as we speak, it was a good brewday. I used iBrewmaster software and it doesn't calculate sugar additions to OG/FG. If I add a pound or two of sugar to the ferment (started at 1.070), how do I end up calculating ABV/OG? Thanks in advance.

    Going bigger!!!

Search the threads, a good sized chest freezer is on sale right now ($160 delivered if memory serves). Should be able to ferment/lager 10 gallons at a pop. Homebrew finds is your friend, and so is brewhardware.

    Going bigger!!!

3k is plenty. I spend $1800 on a e-herms system. Also afforded a fermentation chamber, stir plate (lazy and bought one), and an oxygen set up. What is your goal? Do you want to brew inside or out? Electric or gas? More than 5 gallons? I brew 5 at a pop, makes me brew more often which is awesome...

Compact, Portable Keezer Build (7 cf Lowes special)

Air Circulation Idea: As far as air circulation you could raise the floor a few inches by placing some wood under a wire shelf, and then strategically tying a computer fan to the underneath of the wire shelf so that it blows between two kegs and the wall. The idea (and this is just an idea)...

Thermowell and probes - to grease or not to?

Fantastic. I was quite disappointed in the fact that it wouldn't hold the correct temp as that is the beauty of a herms system. Ill chalk it up to working the kinks out though. Thank you my good man. Cheers! Sent from my iPad using Home Brew
