Just make a cube of similar dimension and radius all edges to match. If you are forced to use a different cooler at some point it will most likely not be exact, but close enough for comfort.
Got the control panel all buttoned up. It's prepped for a future Auber dual thermometer to monitor my chiller and brew kettle instead of dial thermometers. Still need a second pump for hot water too.
Yeah I have the same burner. It needs to be within the 2.5" range. That is a deign flaw of the burner stand. I noticed looking around some of the other Bayou burners had them mounted further up. Probably why these ones got liquidated on Amazon at the price we got them for. The burner works...
I love mine. I have not compared it with others as they are all too expensive. But I feel like it is durable. I wish the inner impeller cup was stainless, but I might be able to machine a replacement for it some time.
That sucks you threw it out! It sounds like it was going well. That much blowoff that fast is a good sign. It's the lingering slimes and crudes that you find after a few weeks that is the bad news. Never seen anything show sign of infection in the first few days. Should of just let it keep...
This is the system I'm working on finishing. Will be a rolling HERMS/Mash cart when done. This way my boil kettle/burner setup is independent and always customizable.
I'm using the 30 psi regulator that came with the banjo burner. I've just interrupted it with a solenoid valve and am running that with the PID. For the ignition I made a pilot light that taps off the main line before the solenoid valve. I'm planning on putting a pressure gauge at the main valve...
I've been working on building my, from what I can tell, unique design of a brew stand. It a vertical stand for my HLT/MLT with my chiller and pump mounted on the side. The banjo burner will be controlled by a PID and the pumps with illuminated switches, mounted in a modified .50 cal ammo can. I...
Don't toss it!!! You'll be fine, and the beer will be fine. Even if a little zinc got in your beer it's not going to hurt you. Zinc is something our body needs. Whenever I start feeling sick I take zinc and vitamin c pills.
Recirculation is always nice. Cooling time is going to depend on ground water temps. I use a combination chill system that I switch from ground water to recirculated ice water when the temp has already dropped way down. As for recirculating in the kettle, it will help a ton. I use a stainless...
The acid oxidized the zinc, removing some of it also. The tools are fine, the starsan probably is too, but it's cheap, so toss it. You are not going to get zinc poisoning either haha. You may experience some future oxidation on the tools where the plating is gone, but it won't hurt anything...
