I almost bought a 6 pack of pumpking tonight after work. Is that the one blended with cranberry juice? This is the 2nd pumpkin beer I've made. The first one I boiled the pumpkin and used no spices and it was amazing. Perfect orange color and great pumpkin taste. Can't find the recipe though. I...
After two weeks I racked this beer to secondary last weekend and I am a little disappointed in the lack of pumpkin taste as well as color. If it were not for the spices I'm not sure people would be able to tell its a pumpkin beer. I baked the pumpkin for 45 mins. I may try this again but will...
I usually just pump them full of CO2. Since you have to clean and sanitize them you could leave the sanitizer in the kegs and put the co2 on them and turn them upside down till its time to keg
Larry's is an awesome place. I'm in Covington and am always looking to meet fellow brewers. We should do a swap sometime. Right now I have my amber my pale ale and a strawberry wheat beer on tap
I planted 60 strawberry plants this year to make wine. Not sure how many lbs ill get since they are first year plants but hoping to have enough left over to make a strawberry wheat beer. I also have a big peach tree in the backyard I'm going to utilize. I also just planted a bunch of pumpkin...
Was a success! I washed and pitched some 1056 from an amber ale I kegged into my first SMASH beer. 14 pounds 2-row with Chinook hops. I was a little worried but it seems to have taken off. All I did was boil the water and cool it down the. Dumped it in my fermenter and stirred up the sludge and...
I'm planning on doing a centennial smash with 14 pounds of two row tomorrow. Also going to try to wash and pitch some 1056 yeast after I keg my amber ale tomorrow. First time trying that hope it works. I have a pack of US-05 on hand just in case.
Ill be attending the home brewers festival in Redmond again this year. Perfect Father's Day gift for my self. I even buy the tickets and tokens. All the wife has to do is leave the kids at home and sober drive me!
Ill challenge that. Paradise Creek Brewery's Northwest Pale ale. Not only the best pale ale I've had but the best beer I've ever had. It took me months to clone it and a guess on the yeast but I did it. Now I have it on tap at all times
