    The pdf says 4.9 alcohol, it should be reachable with 1046 OG more or less. And it says 38 IBU. I think that if you want to clone a beer, you should start from the beer parameters you know.

    hop aromas are not really required in barleywines, and proper oxidation gives sherry/port tastes that are really good in strong beers.

    if it smells fermentation, you have fermentation. it's probably too low to move the airlock, with low production of gas. don't open the bucket too much, to avoid infections
