NEW Product Launch - Bottom Draining Kettles

Will the mash tun take the standard false bottom?

Electric Kettle Rims Basement Brewery Setup

Holy smokes, that's a good bit of change for the install. I've got my sink and faucet (unfortunately my sink cost me 300$ on Amazon and came beat to a pulp due to poor packaging). I was thinking I'd just pay a plumber, but thought it would be way less than 1600$. The other problem i have is the...

    Hop Dropper for SSB Unitank

So, I tried this a while back with a 1.5" butterfly and the hops got stuck. I think this is a use where a quick clean ball valve would work better.

Adding Sodium Metabisulphate at kegging effect on water profile

Right, but then you have the problem of plugged corny posts. You also have to monitor fermentation and gravity very closely to get it right. The point of using the priming sugar is so you can let the yeast and hops settle before transfer.

Adding Sodium Metabisulphate at kegging effect on water profile

But how is it any different from using priming sugar in a keg? You can still use the same transfer process. The reason I'm asking about it is that I have never had great luck with transfers on unfinished dry hopped beers due to clogged lines. It would be easier to to let the beer finished and...

Adding Sodium Metabisulphate at kegging effect on water profile

Why spund vs just carbing with dextrose?

Do you need a 1 off Stainless part built for your system? Let's discuss it.

What about a blichmann pump head with TC inlet and outlets? EDIT: Nevermind, I see you don't sell their pump.

    Spike CIP ball

Anyone used one of these yet? They claim it works well with a chugger, but other balls require more pressure from what I've read. Also, I have an SS Brewtech conical, wondering if it will be too long to work well with my flat lid.

    Maple/Bacon Stout

Honestly I think even if the yeast didn't chew up the syrup, it's such a delicate flavor it would be masked by the other ingredients. The beer may also be too sweet. It seems like more trouble than it's worth, imo. The artificial stuff will never taste the same, but I think using a conservative...

    Immersion or Plate Chiller

I have both. The speed of the plate chiller for large batches is really nice, but I like the simplicity of the immersion chiller. Not having to bag hops is nice.

    What ID for piping?

1" is actually the outer diameter on TC pipe. I prefer the 1" as it uses the same flange as 1.5" and so is compatible with more equipment. I have also never seen a butterfly valve that uses a 3/4" flange if you every want to use butterfly valves.

    FTSs Brewtech Glycol Chiller

I'm away from home until next week, but this is the exact fridge I got for 20$ off craigslist. The compartment in the upper right is only attached by a screw and the coolant pipe. Take out the screw and take off the little door, and you can bend the whole metal freezer piece downward. Then I put...

    FTSs Brewtech Glycol Chiller

Something like that seems so overkill to me to chill 10 gallons. I use a 20$ dorm fridge as a glycol chiller and can cold crash 10 gallon batches in my chronical at 32 degrees no problem. All I had to do was put a 5 gallon tote inside the fridge and bend the freezer coils down into the liquid...

    DIY Hop Cannon

I was thinking of doing this with just a 1.5" butterfly valve, 1.5" TC tube, and TC to ball lock adapter. Add the hops, attach the ball lock adapter, pressurize, purge using a spare ball lock quick disconnect, etc. then open the butterfly valve to drop in the purged hops.

    Blichmann's new pump

It looks like there might not be enough room to solder ferrules onto the npt ports, unfortunately.
