    Equipment

http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/brew-like-a-pro-dave-miller/1111450361?ean=9781612120508 It was a pretty good book especially since i've wanted to make the all grain switch, also... it said to brew your first all grain recipe 5 times anyone else follow that?

    Equipment

Over the weekend I was reading a homebrew book and in the list of needed equipment it said to use a grant. Does anyone use a grant? and what is the best way to clarify wort? I was confused with the book it said to recycle the wort from the grant to the mash bucket/barrel/cooler thanks...

Howdy, good evening! I want to make my first pumpkin beer soon so I can have it ready for the fall. What are some good recipes (links) to threads that have been good for the extract brewer! :rockin:

    Secondary question

Got it! Yea it's hot and humid in the mountains.... one more month then I get a basement to brew beer all year round and not on the second floor..... :rockin:

    Secondary question

My only issue of another week in the fermentor, is temp control, this weekend it's going to be hot and I don't want the yeast to go out of wack. So consensus would be test after 2 weeks is up and then bottle for 3 weeks? or pray the temp stays relatively cool and stable then bottle for 3.

    Secondary question

So this will be my first batch of letting the beer sit in primary for 2 weeks. It took a lot of patience but i'm excited to see how the witbeer turns out! Is secondary necessary? I know it'll have cloudy suspension because of the yeast but is anything after 2 weeks worth it? or should I go...

    Is it just green?

So I tasted my summer ale yesterday after being in the bottle for a week, it was carbed pretty good, but when I tasted it after fermentation I think it tasted better. It was in primary for 7 before I bottled it and has been in the bottle for 7 days to carb up. Is this just green beer and needs...

    Buying in Bulk

So I'd like to stray away from kits, but the only concern is that they are so darn cheap and affordable my LHBS has kits for $28 for a 5 gallon kit, so its hard to try to develop a recipe or copy one here and have it be a bit more pricy, how do y'all buy in bulk and still make it affordable? or...

    Any ideas?

So I've been brewing extract recipes for the past year and most recently have made back to back great beers. Let me know what else might have contributed to this. I personally think they've been good because of the addition of Irish moss, and cooling the wort ASAP after the boil is completed...

    First All Grain Batch

So yesterday I did a steep to convert kind of recipe. It was a Witbeer, and I've been a extract brewer for the past year. And I'm kinda hooked to all grain everything about it the smell of it was incredible. Even though the recipe called for wheat extract I loved it. Does any one have a...

    Anyone See a Problem...

So what your saying is that this hobby requires a whole heck of a lot of patience...... that and 2 weeks primary, week-ish secondary when dry hopping and 3 weeks conditioning in bottles. I'm brewing a Witbeer as of last night (just started fermenting) should I follow that same time line?

    Anyone See a Problem...

So I made this IPA extract kit from my LHBS about a month ago, just a few days ago I cracked one open and don't know what I did wrong... Its frustrating but I'm trying to learn a bit from each batch I'm brewing the I.P.A. will be the 3rd extract kit under my belt. I tasted it and its a "ok"...
