Considering a yeast starter, when I decant (take off the wort fluid) and then pour it into the 5 gallon wort filled carboy. Am I supposed to pour everything else? People say to do so carefully, but how come; what am I watching out for? Is there a difference between "yeast" and "trub"? Or do I just pour everything but the used wort in? (It seems that way but some people said it's not the same on other posts so now I'm confused)

Thanks for the help

Let your starter do it's thing for 2 or 3 days to build up the yeast colony, crash cool in the fridge overnight, pour off the liquid and let it come up to room temp then dump the slurry into your brew. If it's set too solid in the bottom just toss in some of the fresh, cooled wort and swirl around to loosen it.
