Yeast Nutrient Amount

I just noticed that glutenfreehomebrewing is recommending 1/2 tsp yeast nutrient per gallon in their all-grain tutorial. I know most of us use 1/2-1tsp per batch so I wanted to make everyone aware of that.

What are you using for yeast nutrient? The one they sell on GFHB is yellow powdery B-Vitamins etc. I was previously using DAP, which actually calls for 1 tsp per gallon. I now use the GFHB nutes at 1/2 per gallon but it's way more expensive. D you know anything about the benefits of each type? I don't think I've really noticed a difference between the two, but the DAP smells like intense chemicals...

Oh, yeah I guess that would make a difference. I'm just using a bag of DAP I got years ago, it only calls for 1 tsp per 5 gallon.

It seems there are a lot more products on the market now, it would be worth looking into.
