so prepping for a brew day at the end of the week here and i head over to yeastcalculator.com to get my numbers for my starter and just out of curiosity i ran the numbers through beersmith as well and well yeast calc is coming in at about 40 billion cells more than beersmith

anyone ever come across this before? if so which one should i go by? because thats a pretty big difference in my opinion

Didn't think about that really, I don't have a stir plate just giving it a swirl every so often

When i uncheck the stir plate box in beersmith and set the aeration method on yeastcalc to intermittent shaking the numbers I'm coming up with are very close to the same.

Admittedly, I don't use beersmith much, but it looks like they match up to me.

I gotta take another look I thought I had unchecked the use stir plate option but I may have missed it thanks anyway
