has anyone use xylitol as a sweetener instead of granulated/refined sugar or evap cane juice? it supposedly is lower calorie and better for your teeth. i wonder if the sugar geometry might make it too tough for yeast to process?

Someone on here did an experiment and found that xylitol is unfermentable.

I heard somewhere, and don't remember where, that if you have more xylitol than regular sugar, xylitol can kill yeast. Like I said, I don't remember where I heard it, so I can't vouch for the information at all.

found it using search
pure xylitol doesnt ferment
1:1 with sugar does
and of course all sugar does
although their methods seemed less than precise ill accept the outcome for now
