WSJ Article says hop prices going up

Could not get at the article without subscription, but this is the "subtitle":

"In 2004, a pound of the grain cost $1.88. Last year: $3.59. It may be headed for $10 as a shortage hits the beer industry."

Where the hell are they getting the $1.88 and the $3.59 from??? I don't pay $1.88/lb for grain now..... much less in 2004. There is no way a brewery is paying $3.59/lb for grain. $10/lb???? How much is that a bushel? What am I missing?
 
Yeah - just got to the actual article..... They referred to those as hop prices in the article, not grain.
If you google search the article with "wall street journal" you can get to the article, for some reason the link takes you to a subscription page.
 
I'm sure that demand for hops is increasing, prices too. But I think you'll find that the prices of many things have doubled in the last ten years: milk, meat, heating oil.
