Wrong stc-1000 - can it work?

I just realized I got a bum stc-1000 and wondering if I can still get it to work, maybe by soldering to existing solder points and reflashing software. There's a cout2 pair of pins. Attached is a pic, I hope.

I got the same one.. Just found out its a single stage unit.

Well, I've got it working in cooling mode so at least it is keeping my fermentation stable.

The RC-310M (a STC-1000 variant) is Fahrenheit. Also dual stage.

Yeah, I probably just could have gotten another (they're a few bucks cheaper than the 2 stage) and used one for cooling and one for heating. But this way (having a 2 stage on order) I'll have an extra single for something.

A bit pricier but thanks for the link. Have to think if it is worth it for F. Interesting they do it with just 7 posts instead of the 8 on the STC-1000.
